My temp seems to hoover aroond halfway whenever i idle in traffic and will go just a line or 2 below when driving (is this normal for this car). I changed my Thermastat and drained the old fluid and added Proestone DEX 50/50. any suggestions?

Is this about where it's at?

Do the fans come on around that area? I have an 02, so different gauges. But if the lines are the same, that would be 210°F on my gauge.

On a related note: I recently installed a hayden 403 inline and have been on one significant road trip. The highest long distance temps I saw were:

- Highway speed steady at 65mph
- Air Temp at 80 degrees
- Engine temp at exactly 1/2 (almost the exact same location as yours)
- Transmission temp @ 174 degrees

Do these conditions seem ok? The only reason I ask is the engine temp struck me as a little high but I'm likely just paranoid. I was curious if the additional heat coming off the 403 could decrease the radiator effectiveness and increase the engine operating temp.

Engine at half is 200°, which is basically perfect in summer temps. Trans temps at 174 is perfect as well. They will go up in city driving, but around 170° is ideal for trans, over the 220° with the stock cooler :th_sick1:

The trans being cooled separately won't affect engine temps much, maybe let it be a slight bit cooler, not really noticeable.
