2002 GTP Black Sedan - Long Island, New York

Hello Everybody,

I am finally a member of this awesome community and I am honored. :th_thumbsup-wink:

I have always wanted a GTP since I first test drove a brand new one back in 1999 and I was hooked ever since. But life took its toll on me and my finances and I never thought I would be able to afford a nice GTP. So fast forward over ten years later and I ended up in a situation where I needed to buy a car asap and only had $5K.

Out on Long Island things were looking grim for me in the used GTP market. NJ and CT both had nice GTPs that were within budget and had less miles on them then the few I found locally. So I ended up driving 150 miles down to South Jersey to pick up this beast for a mere $4,000 after negotiations (vs $5,300 asking price).

This car has 100,000 on it and I purchased it from the original owner. He adored this car and followed the owners manual to the T, including every maintenance, 91 octane or higher fuel, etc....to the book. That is why I had to jump on this deal. The car is fully loaded, I don't think it is missing a single option other than being a special edition. I do wish it had polished torque stars though. :th_shakinghead1: I hate these tri spoke rims.

I had the car about 24 hours and I have already washed, compounded, waxed, back to black, conditioned the leather upholstery, cleaned the engine bay, polished tailpipes, high temp painted interior of tailpipes, de-bagged, got an oil change and a NYS inspection. Well it was my one day off this week, I feel I got a lot done lol. Well here she is.....btw I am already scouring this forum for ideas on what to do next. Comment with ideas.

The first pic is the first time my in-laws got to see it. They were floored asking if it was a 2009 model, that made me proud. The second/third pic is just a front angle and rear shot after the pipes were polished. The last one is the pipes being painted with high temp engine enamel. Sorry the pics are dark....I didn't finish messing with it until after 8pm. I will get better daytime pics when it stops raining later on this week.

Thanks for the compliments and yes they are fugly rims.

I am in Patchogue exit 64 on the L.I.E....what were you exit 40 or something because that is a decent ride form here.

I am hoping to get a pair of T-stars off craigslist but nobody answered my posting. There are a couple part outs that I am trying to get odds and ends from but none have t-stars. Well these tires are practically new so I am not complaining for now.

Thanks again

Ok fixed....reason why I said that is when I worked at General Motors everyone considered a black car with black dash & black leather a "triple black" version of the car. Sorry didn't know that was just our work jargon.

BTW I love your car. I was trying to land a white GTP but it just didn't work out...they wouldn't budge under $5,700 with 140k on the odo. But most of all it had a few "ricer" mods and was on its 5th owner so I was leery.

Thank you for the compliment.
