2002 Grand Prix ABS light wont go out

Greetings. I couldn't find this topic - maybe I missed it. But I have a 2002 Grand Prix SE and have ABS light on, TRAC light on. I need some suggestions on how to troubleshoot. What is happening is when I start the car, the lights are OFF. After driving a little bit, they come on. Sometimes after a few feet of travel, or can be a mile or so. Sometimes after pressing the brake pedal, sometimes not. The code I get is p0045(circuit malfunction). I have checked the sensor with an ohm meter - 1.082kohms. I have this reading all the way back to the main connector on the ABS module(pins 22 and 23), so I believe the wiring harness is good. I checked the millivolt signal at the main ABS connector with the car on a jack, and spinning the tire - 100 to 400 mv depending on tire speed. Was thinking the ABS module could be bad. With winter coming, I would like to get this fixed.
Any suggestions?

Bryan

I thought P0045 was an EVAP leak?? Either way, if you have the ABS light coming on then you likely have either bad wires from one of the 4 wheels hubs, or one of the hubs itself is bad. The front hubs are more common to cause this issue. Check all 4 wheels with your DMM and see which one is not sending a signal. The front harnesses like to get "dry wire" and break/corrode internally several inches back from the plug. You can also check the front hubs for play by jacking the front end up and pushing/pulling at the 6 and 12 o'clock position on the tire. If you get play in one side or the other then the hub is going, which can cause the ABS light.

If all 4 are checking out ok then the EBCM may need to be rebuilt.
