So i just bought this car and it runs like dog poop. Every time i run it i get new codes. Changed the MAF, EGR, O2 Sensors, Plugs, Wires, Coil Packs and more i'm prob forgetting. I took the belt of the supercharger to take that out of the equation but nothing is helping. Won't rev over 3500 driving or idling. Camshaft sensor?? Thanks

What are the codes?

In park the rev limiter is around 4,000rpm, so that will stop you.

Are you sure the cat isn't clogged and not allowing it to rev freely?

I've had codes 134, 140, 302, 305, 404, 446 and others I never wrote down. The cat may be plugged but trying to pinpoint the trouble. Can the rev limiter fail? My revving trouble is also when driving.

Not the rev limiter isn't something that fails, it's just programming in the computer. Once the vehicle is put in drive the limiter is raised to just above the shift points, like 6,000rpm or so.

If the misfire codes are gone and runs good up to 3,500rpm I would remove the front o2 sensor from the exhaust and take it for a quick spin. It will sound like a tractor but if you can get the RPM's over 3,500 because of the extra exhaust flow, they you likely found the problem.

I did take it for a spin a couple of days ago with the front O2 sensor removed. Scared the poop out of me. After a couple of miles the car ran like the pedal was to the floor. I shut it off and tried again with the same result. After about 20 minutes it started and idled and I limped it home.

Well it has no real fueling control with no front o2 sensor, just a basic open loop limp type mode for fueling if you had to drive it. That's why just a quick drive up the street and back to see if you could power over 3,500 as a test and come back.

Not sure what to tell you now if it runs okay but can't make it over that rpm. The transmission is the next thing to look at. Make sure it's got proper fluid level, past that it could be an internal problem with it.

Without it in front of my with a scan tool I can't diag this stuff from a keyboard.
