2001 GTP Special Edition Coupe w/ 260,000km

Niagara GTP

Hey guy's,

I'm looking at buying a 2001 GTP Special Edition Coupe with 260,000km on it.
Supposedly all highway, and been "well maintained" and lady driven for 6 year's.
She say's it will only need a muffler to pass safety and she's only asking $3000 Canadian and I think I could get it for $2500......any thought's?

The high kilometer's scare's me a bit....

Well, for $2500 can you get much of a better car? Are you intending to modify this car? As for the mileage, 260k km highway is in my opinion about comparable to 2/3 that in city mileage (about 170k km city).

Tell her to safety the car and you will give her $2500.

I'm not really interested in modifying the car.I do really like the the Special Edition interior..haha..Real important ,I know. What can I say. It's the only GTP Special Edition Coupe for sale in the whole province of Ontario though.Agreed,$2500 could get me a better car....but not that year and model. There's a 2000 GTP Coupe with $3500 w/ 133,000 km's.
I'm torn...

When I was looking for a GTP, an original owner older lady was selling her 02 coupe. The car had all options and it was black on black, making it very difficult to pass up. It had only 60,000 km, but it was in terrible condition. You would have swore the car had about 260,000 km, so I left it.

You should look at both cars and get a feel for their condition. 260 is a lot of mileage but the 130k km car isn't necessarily worth buying. Ask if they have service records.

Have a shop look at it. If you trust them tell them the truth. You're interested in the car but the miles scare you
