I know you can buy a quick strut assembly to drop it but is it possible to compress the stock coil a little more? if so, would I have to replace the stock strut with a smaller strut? it needs new ones anyway down the road.

Struts stay the same size, its how big the spring is. Hence why we buy lowering springs.
