2001 GP cup holder. . . which way do those springs attach???

Can anyone pull their center console top off and photograph which way those freaking little springs attach the cup holder to the console top?

THESE buggers:

I've nearly finished restoring the interior of my 2001 GPGT, and I just need to know which way to install these blasted springs!
Seriously, a photo is worth a thousand words in this instance. PLEASE HELP!

I have run into this problem before, but not with these springs, however, sometimes you can find "witness marks" (wear) on the mounting surfaces to identify which way a spring goes into position.

That's not working for me. There are at least four ways to attach one spring, and the springs are left and right handed and it could be either spring, so there are 8 possible configurations I can work out, and only one of them is right, and many of the others risk breaking the spring, or worse, the thin plastic arms on the cupholder. I've been working on this without a proper photo of how they go together for more than a year. I NEED A PHOTO of one that is attached correctly.

Okay, here's what I've got that's working. You can see the arrangement of the spring on the left. I've got the zig-zag end of the spring going through the console side from the inside, with the L-shaped end poking through the cupholder arm in the handed-direction shown. I have NO IDEA if this is right, but it is working. The cupholder snaps open and closes, compressing the springs midway between the open and closed positions. It's possible they should go the other way around with the zig-zag end through the cupholder arms and the L-shaped end through the console side, but without a proper reference to refer to, all I can do is guess and come up with an arrangement that works.
