:)Hello my name is 2000segp or Chris. I am soon to get an amazing buy on a black gp. It has 96,000 miles on it, and it was my cousins until the interior wiring burnt up. What happened was there was a direct wire from the positive battery terminal to one of the wires that went to the radiatior fan. Well long story, pontiac dealership screwed her over and it has been sittin for a year w/ the driver's window 3/4 down and the driver rear door demolished. My grand father who owns the car at the time said i could have it for free if my cousin didn't want it. Today she said she wants to junk it. so it's mine after i selll my 85 GMC S15 Jimmy. My grand father has a guy lined up who has a exact same color perfect door for sale for $75 soo it will soon be up and running. I'm gettin my dad to do the wiring and i'll do the entire interior. It was smoked in and it smells like a wet dog soo i'll have my work cut out for me. My dad does wiring for busses at NABI so he is more than qualified to do the wiring from the firewall forward. :th_jester:

is it the base model grand prix or special edition. Make sure to ask if you need any help. Someone here should be able to answer any questions you may have.

Welcome to the community.

It does sound like you got your work cut out for you, but the thing about that is that you'll have a whole new appreciation for your ride.

I cranked it and drove it today and whatever is wrong with the gp affects the throttle b/c you have to give it alot more gas than normal to get it going good.

Talk to Ed Morad. Could probably give you a deal on a new used carpet and maybe some interior pieces if needed. If theirs water and mold in the carpet you'll need to pull it. The window stuck halfway down, is that due to no electric to put it up or possibly something broken? Willing to help any way we can, just post questions in their respective section!

what would i look for to see if it's a special edition? Badging, Wheels...interior?
I'm going to assume it is a GP SE and not a Special Edition. I believe the "special edition" for 2000 would have been the Daytona and would be Galaxy Silver. 2001 for the Special Edition.

A 2000 black GP SE would most likely look like this:

A black Special Edition would look like this:

also... i'm far too lazy and it's too late right now to go look but what bulb number is the fog light bulb?
Stock foglight bulb is 880.

As far as any parts you may need, as stated, Ed Morad (Morad Parts Company). Also can check salvage yards, online yard sites (car-parts), ebay, etc.

Just to help out a bit look at the engine bay. If the block has 3.1 stamped on it you'll need to post any motor questions in the 3.1 section. If it has an engine cover it should be a 3800 Series II.

thanks for the clarification but my front end looks like the special edition picture..... is that normal?
Yeah, not sure exactly when the "ant-eater" front fascia was discontinued and the normal GT/GTP fascia used. Sometime in 2000, I believe, they were phased out and all subsequent years had the GT/GTP front fascia. It would still not have the side skirts and would have the other rear fascia though.
