2000 gtp runnig rough and black smoke

Hello

on Friday i drove my 2000 gtp to work no problems in the morning ( 112,00 miles on the car

when i went back to leave and went to start up and leave and it started and died
tried restarting and it was just idleing rough and blowing black smoke out of the exhaust.

got it to where it woufd start to drive and made it 1/4 mile and it died
running rougher and rougher.

got it towed home saturday morning i went to try to fix the broken(dry-rotted) rubber t fitting that is under the nose of the super charger.

still didnt fix it.

yesterday morning wen to mess with it again
got out the fuel pressure gauge and hook up that reading between 45-53 lbs. tapped on the fuel pressure regulator and started it up and ran and idled fine. ok so i think problme solved and go buy a replacement regulator. get that home and switched out.

started the car and idleing kind of rough and then it starts getting worse and blowing more black smoke again fuel pressure stays the same and then the car dies off again.

so it cant be the regulator.

i unhooked the mass air flow sensor to see if that may be the problem. car acts the same.
talked to a mechanic friend and he suggests a few things :

i check the resistance on the injectors of the 5 i could get to easily all of them were aroung 14 ohms.

tried putting back the original regulator same thing.

i unhooked the battery on the car for about a half hour. now the car wont even start.

still showiing a check engine light (on from an emissions code for a while.)

about a month ago i had chneged the crank position sensor to to the car cutting out on me while driving. had ran perfect since then.

i am getting spark to the cylinders

my buddy it supposed to stop over with his Tech 2 and see what that shows but i thought i would throw my question out there and see if anyone had any ideas.

thansk for your help

Hmmm well scan it for codes and report back with code number, code name and likely we can tell you right where to look.

Possible is a clogged cat?

Dies, runs rough, evap code, black smoke... could be a clogged converter :th_scratchhead:

something to check into
