2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP.. just got it with a problem.. replaced ect sensor, intake elbows with upgraded metal ones, thermostat, water pump..all brand new parts.... flushed out block, heater core, and radiator.. water flowed through all... car overheats within a couple minutes.. radiator is cold.. is there any way theres a blockage somewhere in the block or the radiator could be plugged enough so the pump cant push the fluid through?? water went through the radiator when i had it out and didnt seem clogged.. when car is warm the heat works so i know the core is getting the hot coolant from the block.. both radiator hoses are somewhat warm but not hot my any means... and coolant in radiator is cold...got me stumped.. any help is very appriciated..

Are you making sure that the block is full of coolant first, then adding the rad?
Take the thermostat out and fill the block from there, then put it back in and top off the radiator. Put the cap back on and fill the res tank, then start the car and run it till its warm, open the bleeder on the thermostat housing for a few seconds and close it. Do that atleast 5-10 times as its heating up to get rid of all the air in the system.
If that doesnt help anything, you likely do have a real blockage of coolant flow and not just a massive amount of air in the system.

Ffdp bet he is not letting it warm up all the way. I noticed on mine that even tho the temp reads normal the hoses can be cold if you dont let it warm ip all the way. Most of us dont have block heaters like you lol

take the t stat out, put the housing back on, then take the upper hose off the rad. then start the car, coolant should pump out the upper hose, if its not flowing out, theres a real blockage.
you did put the t stat in the right way right? if its upside down it wont work well. maybe the last one one was in wrong too?
