Recently put a new fuel pump ,pump relay, fuel filter, and fuel pump resister in my 3800 super charged. Now t about 2800 - 3000 it has no power and if I hold the gas down the service engine starts flashing and then quits when I slow down. Any suggestions . 152,000 miles on it. Thanks

X2 on a clogged cat.

or your in need of a tune up real bad.

dont make the cel light flash, its bad for the engine. it means a catastrophic even is happening. aka multiple misfires.

Any possibility it could be the fuel pump relay/ resistor ? Saw an article some time back on this forum about using a short copper wire to bypass the relay to keep pump on high speed. Could it be a fuel staring problem?

I meant a fuel starving problem , spelling ?!?!
anyone know where I can get that picture of using the jumper wire?
thanks

your getting fuel.

how many miles? last known tune up?

flashing light is always clogged cat or you need a tune up real bad.

You can always check your FP at the rail if it makes you feel better. But I would just take a few minutes to take the o2 out and check it. Or you could just drill a hole in the cat lol

I would do as BlackGT first suggested and pull the front 02 sensor. Def sounds like you have a clogged cat.

My 99 was clogged so bad you could hear the motor knockin from the lack of flow.

I dont think he likes to listen.

Flashing SES means possible cat damage, like massive misfires. The car has some problems, you might wanna listen and answer our question before you dig yourself a bigger hole.
