Wife commutes 60 mile a day, 200,787 miles on engine. after sitting for 45min I tried to start.. car will not Idle. "Car drove fine on the way home." engine will start with accelerator floored/down. Under the hood after each engine turn over it sounds like a rubber diaphragm is expanding or contracting and engine breathing sound is extended. no code. engine seems hot after 45 mins of sitting. changed air filter disconnected Iac no change, disconnected Maf no change and disconnected TPS on TBI ?? no change.

clogged cat maybe? take the upper o2 out, see if it runs better.

you can also drive it at night some what hard, see if the cat is glowing red.

I just put a PZZ down cat back on a few years ago.

Here's what I'm reading-off of OBDII (onsale for 107.00 at AZone)

PO107- Manifold absolute pressure or barometric pressure circuit low input confirmed.

PO122 TPS A circuit low input conf.- changed out, new.

no change.

swapped out MAP sensor and PCV valve. when i rev engine sounds like a rev limiter.

will not idle.

MAP sensor = 63.00

ran the engine this am with pedal assist to keep it running. OBDII found a third code for MAF. replaced MAF, i had just changed this out a couple of months ago. Condensation is coming out of the tail pipe, engine sounds strong , however it still won't idle or try to idle, fuel pump is heard after she dies. after i remove my foot from accelerator the tach is in the cellar.

considering the shop

oh, you using a after market maf? if so toss it in the trash.

buy a used one off ebay or from a local junk yard. oem maf's work best.

car off unplug the maf, then start it up, if it idles now that maf is bad.

theres also a fuse for the maf, 24 or something like that. look for a blown one.

It was a stuck "Idle Air Control Valve." IAC, I Just replaced it last Jan '13. running like a champ again. Hooah ! I too have had bad luck running K&N W light oil. It has killed a few MAF over the course of 200,800.

"E ah ho la oolah" wider is better.
