2000 GT Fuel Gauge problem

when i start it the gauge shoots to full and stays there for about 30 seconds and in about a miniute it drops to E and the low fuel light comes on i have tried a diffrent gauge and a diffrent fuel pump and it still dident work and i tested them both im my wifes 99 GT and they both work any new ideas?
 


yeah when i said pump i ment the whole thing sending unit and all and by testing them i ment hooked the gauge and other pump with the sending unit up to my wifes 99 GT and they worked. sorry i should have been more clear:th_laugh-lol3:
