2000 Grand Prix won't start

I have a 2000 Grand Prix. Won't start, gauges jump randomly. Checked battery and connections. Any ideas?
 


Yes, checked it, it's tight. Strange thing, when I wiggle the ignition key on and off the dash lights get brighter then dimmer. With parking lights on it won't let key out of ignition, with parking lights off it will allow key to come out after about 30 seconds.
 
If the gauges jump around, sure sounds like an electrical issue to me. Make sure your connections to the battery are clean and good, same with your grounds and alternator/fuse box connections. I once accidentally ran my battery too low and had issues not unlike those you are describing.
 


This problem happened just after a very heavy rain. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.....And no I haven't pulled the dash out.
