2000 Grand Prix GT- wont lock up

I was driving home last night at 55 mph, and the car jerked a little, the headlights flickered and the torque converter unlocked and stayed that way. Everything else seems normal but the TC wont lock up. I checked the fuse this morning , that's ok. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Yes, it is not shifting into 4th. Does the 3-4 solenoid need replacing or something else. If the 4th gear is shredded as Ive read, why wont it shift into 4th.
 
.... Because the 4th gear is shredded? I feel like thats pretty clear.... If the 4th clutch hub is shredded, It will not go into 4th.

If it were pretty clear to ME. I would not be seeking advice from someone like you. A professional would understand this.
