2000 GP SE Lock button broke/fell into Pass. Door

Hi all, kinda been lurking around here since I bought my '00 GP SE w/ the 3.1L last week.

It has a couple super tiny issues, such as the lock button for the front passenger door has broken/fallen inside the door panel.....I kinda managed to pull it up to a point where it's dangling about 2 inches down from the button housing....But it's still down there.

I know I'm gonna have to take the door panel apart to get in there, but does the button by chance clip into the housing?? Or will I have to buy the button panel from ebay and replace the whole panel? Considering it hasn't been any warmer then 10'F all week, I'd just like to know whether or not i need the button panel or whether I can snap the button back into place...Before I get the panel off that way I don't freeze my rear off for no particular reason lol.

Thanks in advance for any help!!

Are you talking about the electric lock buttons or the manual lock button itself that sits in with door handle? Its hard to say if you'll need to replace it or not with out looking to see if it just popped out or the plastic that holds it in place broke. The actual switch panel containing your window/lock switches is easy to remove. You just take a flat blade screw driver and you can pry up on the back/bottom of the switch panel. The whole thing is just clipped in place, so by prying gently on the bottom it should lift the entire panel with out a problem. Once you have it out you can unplug everything (if you need to) to inspect the button that popped out to see if its just out of place or broke.

Yep, was talking about the panel with the buttons not the actual lock on the door. Glad I shouldn't have to take the door panel off, and it sounds much easier then expected....Use to doing things the hard way because of my last car lol.

EDIT - Popped the switch panel, grabbed the button and popped it right back into the panel, tabs weren't broken..Thanks again!
