2000 Daytona advise

Hello all I'm new to the forum..(I learked a bunch) and found a lot of helpful stuff. I own a 2001 gt I bought as a driver and liked the car so Ive fixed a lot of stuff. Well it had 190k but ran very well so I started to check out mods cheap and found it could be fun to tinker with..ok ..I run across this kid with a GTP for sale. He told me motor was smoking, had milkshake and ran ruff. Car is a little rough body wise he painted lens covers, typical rocker rust, fuel door bost mostly dirty.. I wanted seats and whatever..turns out it is 2000 Daytona (big deal) ididnt no anything about them and still do very little...bottom line is I jumped it checked the oil and coolant..hmmm..idle smooth..hmmm. I drove it home 15 miles ..on the mat a lot. The front end is wack normal stuff, wheel bearing( or what was at one time screaming but runs like a ****/,?">? .didn't miss a lick.. My question after all that is ..is this worth anything or just a gp with couple different cosmetics? It correct paint ,seats , wing so ...Thanks in advance I enjoy the forum so far and I will donate...
 


It holds no more value than any other GTP out there. Having rust makes it even worse on value

Being a daytona doesnt make it a big deal or have anything special about it. Other than the decals, interior/emblems/spoiler/roof rails and such, anyone can buy those second hand now. Everything else motor/trans/suspension/brakes etc etc are all the same.
 
To the right buyer with low miles and in very good condition you might be able to get a little more, in the condition you described as FFDP stated no and having rust makes it even more worthless.
 
I seen pictures of it before I went to go see it. I was really just interested in front seats ..idnt knw they were different. I realized after pics so I figured ill offer him 500.00. When I realized the seats were great shape and then it ran perfect with 0 signs of head gasket problem .intake leaked some external over the years lol ...so I gave him 200.00 and drove it home.. I'm still just happy too have new seats didn't care if they were even correct for my car but I got faster ones now... problem is havnt changed them yet.. seriously the kid was very annoying, know it all that I met during a different car deal so no f@#$s were given. I have some good front end parts off a wrecked 2001 se ill put on it make it drive right swap seats, deck lid sell it.
