Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Got the car scanned yesterday after work since out of nowhere it felt sluggish, shifting was a lil weird and speedo didnt seem accurate, like it said I was doing 55 but felt like I was at 45mph. Code 1 was p401 EGR code, I hear I can take that off and spray carb cleaner into it to clean it out which could troubleshoot it for now but would that be correct and what else could I do? Car just feels sluggish and dosent pull like it should it even sounds a bit louder but I could be paying attention to it too much. And second code was for I believe my wheel speed sensor would that be the culprit for my speedo and shifting issue? And would I be ok driving it for a few days til im off on Fri?

Well I mentioned code 1 was p401 EGR , and the tech didn't pull up the abs code but my trac and abs light have been on since day 1 and I did get that scanned some months ago and it was some weird co18... Wheel speed sensor abs module code. Can't remember exactly but that's why I mentioned the speedo issue.

The vehicle speed sensor is located on teh differential housing of the transmission. A wheel speed sensor is typically only used for ABS, it should not effect the speedometer.

Oh.. 401 is the ollllllle flow one eh?

Yeah, you have to look at what is being tested and how it's being tested. Flow is detected by the map, the map expects to see a change in intake pressure when the egr is opened, if it doesn't..it tosses this code. Which..doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong with the EGR. It means.. the change in flow was not seen.

i started out with a low voltage code for the egr, changed that as you know Bill lol a week later the 401, low flow showed its face. and a evap code. changed the map and the evap purge sensors, no light for 3 weeks now.

and my mpg went back up. as soon as the light went on, i lost 2 to 3 mpg, almost instantly on my avg mpg.

So to break it down? What am I looking to do and what else could it be?besides the p0420 code that I've been had those are the only 2 codes.

pull the egr, clean the tubes, make sure they are not cracked or anything, put them back clear the code, see if it comes back, if you found a carbon blockage that was the low flow, if its all clear, try changing the map sensor.

the other code is your cat. if its a hi flow cat, you'll need a emulator maybe.
