1st gear sticking

Ok so here we go. My car is still under warranty for a few more thousand miles. When I start my car it can go one or two ways. Either the car runs fine and I have no problems or the other condition.

1st gear seems to stick extra long. And when this is happening if I go WoT it hits the rev limiter and I have to let off the throttle and get back into it slowly until it will shift again. Because it is not throwing codes I assume the stealership wont do anything about it but I was wondering if anyone knew what could cause this. The car is an 05 and has 71K on it

Trans codes are interesting. Most won't light up a SES and they don't store. You drive the car, get it to do it and scan it before turning the car off. Then you'll have a code if one exists.

GM did this intentionally so that our cars drive as good as possible...say it's an overheated or swelled part it won't always show...the driveability won't default permanently.

Unless you bring a buddy to Autozone. The buddy sits in the car while you ask them to scan the car. :th_thumbsup-wink:

Well to update I ended up taking it to the dealership caus it was aviting up again. They put me in a free rental car (2010 malibu) and just called said they found nothing wrong... as usual. However, they did say that it is noted and if anything does happen shortly after my warranty expires they will fix it. Atleast I have a resonable dealership
