1999 gt tranny questions..+ hello

Hello,
I'm new here and wanted to say hello and help!
I have a 1999 gt coupe with 250,000 miles on it.. i recently lost all shifting ability and i hear a spinning,clanking sound coming from under the front of my car..is the tranny hosed or is it another issue that could save me the headache of a whole tranny rebuild?

If the car won't move even if the shifter is placed in 1st or 2nd, then its more than likely dead.

Something has broke on the inside, likely the bands or the input shaft.
 
Thank you SMGPFC Member #1 I'm currently looking at a 2001 gtp special edition that i may buy,but the heads up,radio display,dic dont light up..but i dont know if thats a big deal?..it has 100k on it..nice gp..whats your opinion?..
