1999 Grand Prix GT Fuel issue!?

Hey guys I got a fuel issue with my prix! It seems to me when I go on a slant, It goes from let's say 3/4 tank to FULL! So......W * * lol Today when I left with my mom to get gas It read 1xx some km on the tank left(digital gauge) then as i got level it went to about 91 then as I drove for about 15seconds it went down to 7x km! then DING DING LOW FUEL! XD Anyone got a suggestion of what it might be!?

The float will rise and fall depending on which way the vehicle is sitting.

Some cars will bounce around more than others.

Other possible cause is the level sendor arm fingers are worn out and giving false readings more often than not, replacment of that may or may not fix the issue.

But why would the gas go up as I slant upwards? shouldnt it be the opposite way? why it would decrease like that? its stupid also is there anyway I can change when the LOW should come on because IDK how many actual km I have left on the tank b4 I am incredible low.

The way the pump sits in the tank causes the fuel level to rise when the nose of the car is higher than the rear of the car. The level went down to where it really is once the car was on level ground and moving.

You can't change when the fuel low light comes on, it comes on when it reaches around 3-3.5 gallons left in the tank.

You should never rely on the DIC for accurate numbers, do the math by hand and reset the anolog tumbler in the dash every fill up. When the low light comes on figure you have a short distance to go on the tank, then after a fill up or two, youcan gauge the distance you can go on a given tank.

Because sir..either your baffles in the fuel tank are broken or your fuel sending unit is bad. When it's bad..it fluctuates all over creation.

The fix here in the US would be a $30 part and 30 minutes of time. Up there in the north, it's probably $50 CAD and still 30 min of time.
