1998 GTP Tranny missing 2nd

When I drive sometimes I miss 2nd gear... I will get up to maybe 20 mph and then the engine will just rev not shifting at all. Sometimes it does shift, but it feels like it pulls hard. Sometimes it will take a good 2 mins until it shifts into 2nd and I will get stuck on traffic :(

I havent check any codes or done any work to the car so far, it's a 1998 GTP with 130xxx miles on it.

Any help will me appreciated.
 


Best thing you can do is get the codes. We can make general suggestions that it could be this or that..but the codes are going to tell you more than we can.
 
How do I check the codes? ODB 2 ?

Sorry am I bit rusty with this car since I been driving my truck for almost 1 year... I want to get this car up to top shape again.
 
Drive it over to a parts store that scans for free. Write down the code numbers and google/look them up and post the findings.
