1998 Grand Prix GTP 2 door 3800 Supercharged

Hi, I am having a problem with my 1998 Grand Prix GTP 3800 Supercharger.
There is a grinding noise when the car is in forward, reverse, or in 3,2,1 when the motor is idling, or when i shift from forward to reverse.

Any ideas what it may be?

I would venture to say something in the trans, as it only does this when in gear. But Ive been wrong before.

now as to what... theres several HUNDRED parts in the tranny that could go out and cause problems. None of them are cheap fixes.

Main question (don't take offense to this, its a normal question) Have you done anything to the car lately?
i.e.: Tranny service, replacing parts, re-routing wires, etc...
 
I havent done anything to the car since I bought the car 4 months ago with 86,000 miles and it only has 90,000 miles on the car now. Just an oil change
