1997 gtp sometimes only hits 4k rpm

I just recently gave it a tune up and the car was running beautiful,but every now and then it wont go past 4000 rpm if i rev it,also my supercharger wont kick in it will show about 1 to 2 bars on the boost......any sugestions on what i should change or check for???

Are you revving it in park?

Yes ill rev it in park,only wen i notice the rpm will kind of jump to 1200k.....i always let the engine warm up a bit befor i drive off
then wen its been running for about 20 mins ill hit the gas(not flooring it) just enuf for the boost to kick in and it will only get 1 or two bars
KIND OF A HESITATION LIKE THE SUPERCHARGER WANTS TO KICK IN BUT WONT

if youre not moving there is a rev limiter at 4k.

you wont get full boost unless you put the pedal to the floor, that is a given.

Kool i didnt know that....but still even wen i drive it wont kick all the way on even wen i floor it

you boost bypass valve solenoid is junk or you have a vacuum leak. i'd suggest searching around the forum for some clues.

the solenoid is located on the front of the blower near the throttle body side. it looks like a little black, plastic mushroom. the problem is the solenoid below it (the little black box). if you pull the vac line from the solenoid (plug it) and leave it open when youre driving and you get full boost then your solenoid is junk.
