1997 GTP Help

My wife has a 97 GTP with 110 plus miles on it. Recently my daughter run into the back of a delivery truck at a low rate of speed, thus busting all the lighting out, bent the hood and screwed up the bumper cover. I had the exhaust repaired the week before and discovered the body underneath it is starting to rush to the point you can poke your finger through the steel under it. The rocker panels are gone. They were covered by the plastic body skirts. Now the real problem is she really loves her car. What do I do? Is it worth welding and replacing the front or how much can I get for it as a parts car. Supercharged engine runs good, trans shifts good, tires new a year ago. Fuel gauge hasn't been working for ever, radio display is gone. Electric moon roof works great. Interoir not the best of shape. Her last husband didn't do anything to it. She bought it brand new off the lot with 2 miles on it. What should I do?

find a newer model with no rust.

motor and trans are worth a easy 1000.00 if not more to the right buyer.

the part about parting out a car is you have to look at it as small parts one by one disappear. can take quit a while. aka eye sore in your driveway or yard.

or sell it as is and take what ever you can get for it.

Probably needs LIM gaskets, valve cover gaskets, all new suspension, etc... The radio display is just a bulb that backlights the LED. Can be replaced.

Can you do all this yourself or have to pay a shop? The front bumper cover, etc.. isn't too hard to replace. The rockers will be the worst part. Might just have to sit down w/ her and go over the pros and cons of keeping it vs. selling and see where you end up. If she really does love it that much it may make her think a bit more clearly about the reality of fixing it vs. finding another one in better shape.
