Took the side cover off of my 1997 GP to replace the solenoids and bent the steel/rubber gasket that came off the side cover. Did'nt know it could be reused so I tossed it. :th_doh:Now I gotta get a new gasket and found out that there's a few options I gotta go over.
1. The OEM gasket is for the aluminum side cover and it's a steel and molder rubber gasket that I found goes for between $80-$120 bucks.
2. There's a cork style gasket that fits the cover and it runs about 30 bucks.
3. AutoZone and Advance Auto (on thier websites) along with other Transmission places show a steel/rubber gasket that states it will fit the 4T60E AND the 4T65E transmissions, but it does'nt look likeit would fit.
My question is, can I go with the cork gasket to save some cash or should I pony up and get the steel/rubber gasket. Also, will that other gasket made for the 4T65E fit my side cover?
Any help would be appreciated!!!
