1995 Grand Prix

My car has a problem starting. It will start and cut off, Sometime it will start right up, but after driving for a while, when I turn it off and try to start it, it will start and turn off. If I'm driving under 35, it may turn off. Sometimes at high speeds it becomes jerky. It's getting gas cause I can smell it. Sometimes it will start in neutral with no problem. Has anyone experience this and what is the solution?

Not real familiar with the '95's (that was during my Ford years) but check the IAC (Idle Air Control Valve) first. It's a small device on the throttle body usually held on with two screws and will have a couple of wires going to it. It opens under low throttle (like idle) to allow air into the engine around the throttle plate which is usually closed. When they get high mileage they usually get sticky with carbon or soot and stick. It's a simple repair and usually under $60.
