1995 Grand Prix - non A/C Serpentine Belt possible?

Just bought a 95 grand prix, 3.1L, the A/C Compressor sounds like its trying to eat the engine lol.

I am asking this because I have found various site/posts that talk about a A/C Bypass pulley, and alot of the time when going to buy one, it doesn't state that it fits a 1995. (1996 - up)

So, do I HAVE to get a bypass pully? or can I simply put the shorter belt from another 3.1L on it?

I don't mind purchasing a shorter belt if its possible! the bypass pulley is more expensive than a belt, and I need a new belt. (as well, see below, have a belt on another similiar car)

(I have a 1994 Grand Prix 3.1L, no A/C, and wondering if I could put this belt on the 1995 3100.....??

Any thoughts?

i believe u either change the compressor..maybe used, or buy the bypass. i had the older 3.1 aqnd i did bypass the ac with a shorter belt but i think theres something funny on the 94 and up models that dont let u do it...the water pump is positioned different and the belt wont spin it......overheat..... so no i dont think u can bypass that one. good luck
