1993 4 Door Grand Prix Inside Door Handle

I've searched and found some descriptions of how to replace the outside handle on the car...which I had to do last year...but now the inside door handle broke. I can still open it by grabbing on to what's left but it's difficult to get a good grip on it...especially for my mother in law and it's her car. It looks like a major pain to replace it since everything looks riveted together on a plate all the way down to the latch. Anyone done this? Thanks!

Not sure, but in the mean time is there enough of the plastic left that you could possibly drive a long screw into it so that it gives you some more to grip when trying to open the door?

It's a pot metal handle that looks like if I try to attach anything to it would probably break even more..
