136,000 miles worth it?

I am looking to buy a 2006 grand prix gt with 136,000 miles on it for $6,200.

I am not a grand prix fanatic, but it seems like a great deal for a first car. I know the 3800 motor is supposed to be great, but my dad thinks 136,000 miles is way too much to mess around with.

I don't want to waste my money, I just want a decent car to have some fun with and get me through college.

Any expert opinions would be awesome!

THANKS!!!

2006 and 2007 GT's are supercharged.

To me the price is a little high, if you can get them to 5000-5500, it would be better.

136,000 miles in really not the many for these cars, if they can show proper maintence and repairs to the car over its lifetime, then it should be a good buy.

I'm not sure if you're interested, but Im currently trying to sell my 2008 Grand Prix GXP for $9500. It just hit 100,000 miles. You can see it on Autotrader.com near Muscatine,IA 52761

I think $6200 is overpriced. For that price it should be closer to 100K on it. It could be a great buy, but way to many grand prix's arent taken care of the way they should.

For $6200 I assume this is at a dealership? It's not unrealistic, but a bit too high if you ask me. I think the sweet spot for that car if its in good condition is right about $5500-$5700.

The mileage isn't terrible. It's about 22,000 miles a year which is a little above average miles per year.

Well GT are a dime a dozen personally with that many miles I would pay around $5500 or so but I would still find another GT or GTP with less mileage.
