I finally got my brothers 99 Grand Prix GT back here and hooked up HPTuners to it. He had been having a shifting issue. It's throwing the code for the 1-2 Shift Solenoid, which also controls the 3-4. It's a $26 part that I can get even cheaper then that with my discount. So I wouldn't be out much if I gave replacing it a try. I'm fairly sure all that is involved is a pan drop. Obviously if any shavings are in the pan I'm scrapping the trans and forgetting about this. But has anyone ever tackled this? Would be interested in knowing what kind of a job it is. I've done everything you can think of when it comes to tearing into the heart of an engine but never a transmission.
