08 base noise at wot



Could you describe the noise? Is it a squeal? A grinding sound? Heck, take a vid of it and post it if all else fails.
 
lol, yea, not the best description haha. knocking? creaking? could be an engine mount maybe. that's the only guess i could make with the details given.
 
lol sorry! the noise kind of sounds like a growling griding type of noise from right upper side like how a bad wheel bearing sounds
 
Maybe take the belt off and spin the pulleys by hand and see if one of them sounds noisy or dry. Could be the A/C compressor as well, or possibly the alt. Can you duplicate the noise while it's in Park w/o revving it to hell and back?
 


Now how the heck would plugs and wires make a grinding noise on your engine?

Check your pulleys: alternator, idler, water pump, AC, power steering

Remove the belt and spin them. They should be smooth as silk. If any one makes any noise at all then it'll make some serious noise at 5000 RPM.
 
yea, when you go wot u put everything under a strain that you wouldn't normally see. so the pulleys are moving alot faster. much like my bad wheel bearing, i imagine the faster they move, the louder they get...
