• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

07 project base gp

One BadAzz GT Dawgg
So here's my problem as of the moment. I bought the car and the abs and traction control lights are one. I put 3 wheel bearings. The front driver I did not. I put brake pads and rotors on it as well. My problem is, when going highway speeds and going to the left it makes a grinding sound.

The the wheel bearing bolts are stripped on the driver front. I will get a wheel grinder and grind the old hub off where the bolts thread into it and get new bolts. Do you think that's the problem? I thought it was the opposite side for wheel bearings so I did the passenger.

car shakes when accelerating. Most noticeable between 40-60 then seems to go away, grinding sound gets louder.

my tpms light is on, and the psi doesn't have any numbers by them. Do I have to bring car to dealer to calibrate? I have a key fob but dealer has to program that. It's a 07 base model.

more posts to come as I get this car done within 6-8 weeks.

My my problem is that it may need tie rods, lower control arms, and cv axles as well as all 4 wheel bearings and brakes

Grinding when turning sounds like a cv axle to me, any torn boots? The shaking could be wheels out of balance, or flat spot on the tires, has it been sitting for a while? Abs/trac lights can also be caused by a broken wire in the harness that runs from the wheel sensor. You can test the sensor with a multimeter (have to search, it's on here somewhere) to find out if it's bad, or a wire is the culprit.

Have you had it scanned to find out what's causing the abs/TC light to come on? It could be more then just a bad bearing.. I wouldn't go off and replace them until you confirm that they're bad by either doing the shake or checking at the ebcm

My abs scanner said wheel speed sensor in front passenger tire. I replaced hub. Lights went away and now says service tpms.

wheel shaking comes and goes it seems like axles looked old but boots were fine. Car sat for about a year. The car fax said it hit an embankment a year ago and has been sitting roughly 800 miles on car since it hit an embankment.

I'm not sure what's making the grinding sound, it might be the front left wheel bearing, or could it be the passenger cv?
