07 prix drl "daytime driving lights" disable

First off I'm just going to get this out there. THERE IS NO FUSE TO DISABLE THE LIGHTS. I'm putting in hids soon and read that turning the hids on and off in short periods can ruin them. So I'm looking for a way to disable the daytime running lights so they do not turn on when the vehicle is turned on but will turn on when it gets dark out. I did hear something about unplugging a blue and grey wire in the dash by the drivers door but I would rather haver pictures showing me what to do before I start pulling wires. So with all this information said can anyone help???

Side cover on drivers side dash, take it out:

Remove this thing (looking from bottom of the dash):

just leave it hanging somewhere.

Sorry I didn't see that it's for an 07. I have no idea how to do it for 04+ cars. Give it a try

1 person has... if you would have searched and read you could have found the thread on how to do it. :th_shakinghead1:

Now... *ITS NOT EASY*

*IT REQUIRES REWIRING... SPLICING... CUTTING... AND CAN POTENTIALLY RUIN YOUR BMC IF DONE WRONG!!!! but here is the how-to

Do it at your own risk... read the whole thing and ask questions if you get confused... don't break your car because you assumed the wrong thing. :th_peaceout: Good Luck

How often do you plan on turning your car off and on in a day? Seems like on to go to work, on to go to lunch, on again to go home? If they cannot be turned on three times a day on average put the original lights back in!

DRL's run at a lower wattage then full night time lighting. Giving HID's anything besides full wattage will shorten their life and sometimes cause them not to turn on correctly.

Disabling DRL's is to save your HID's..
