:confused:What's up everybody. I'm new to the forum and also this is my first supercharged car. I own an 07 gp/gt with the series 3 V6 engine and I was wondering if it is safe to drop down to a 3.5 pulley. The dealer says I can with no other mods but I want extra input, so fire away please.
 


i wouldent really drop pulley sizes with out supporting mods. atleast an intake, down pipe and colder plugs (al 104's) if you have a scanner and can scan for knock, well go for it and see how much kr you get. but if you dont. i wouldent do it with out supporting mods. extra boost is a fast way to make power but is also a fast way to blow the engine if you dont have supporting mods.
 


yea zzp offers colder plugs. the aeroforce gauge has a scanner in it. and im pretty sure that the same scanner will work for the 04+ that works for the 03 and older. im not sure, cause i dont have a scanner but im sure they all use the same port to plug in.. ill do some research and let you know..
 
k send me a PM on it blowfish...and also im confused on the PCM. do i need to buy the tuner suite or a pcm or both? lol im not sure how that works and a scanner?
 
with a tunner you can tune the stock pcm, add timeing, fuel, adjust the maf. all the things that you need to do for your car to run properly. you can tune it to save gas or you can tune it for race mod. its all in how you tune it. so you can keep the stock pcm with that. if you dont want to tune it yourself you can buy an aftermarked pcm, i would sugest overkill, and he will send it to you tuned for your mods.. its up to you. but if you start adding more parts you have to pay 50 bucks to get it retuned from overkill. but its not to bad.
 
thnx that clears that part up, i really dont want to deal with the laptop crap. my final thing is if i get a scanner and am showing KR (which i have no idea what it is, but it is bad lol).....ok so my ? is, if i find KR, wtf am i suppost to do about it ??
 


kr is early detination in the cylenders from the sparkplug. its uncontrolled and not supposed to happen at that time. its caused from high heat. when the pcm detects kr it pulls timming to reduce kr and run the car saftly. if you have a pcm and dont tune it then it kinda depends on mods. like headers flow more exhaust then just a downpipe and ported manifold so that alone with lower kr. plus you can also get colder plugs. colder plugs reduce kr. with an overkill pcm you should have very little if any kr. if so he can retune it and maybe drop the timing a few degrees. he is a real cool guy and if you tell him where and at which point your getting your kr, like what gear, what rpms. he can problew work it out for you. hes real cool tho and wouldent mind talking with you and trying to help you work it out..
 
hmm overkill only offers up to 05 GP, should still work on my 06 model though. erm thnx alot blowfish, summed that up real nicely...guess ill come up with the xtra money next week and upgrade my intake to CAI, buy this lil pricey device from overkill, get some plugs and for now....im going to leave the downpipe alone for a lil whilez anyways
 
yea im pretty sure he can tune for 06. you can make a custom at home intake that will work as good as anything.. and you really dont need the tune till you drop pulley sizes.
 
well i have air intake, lol its not CAI cause its the cheap one off ebay but i figure if i can get ahold of some heat resisting pads with alittle metal wire, i should be able to cone around it, have to move my PH speaker to the grille though :D
 
LOL and dont pick on my artistic work here. was a TEST run to see if i need to pay someone to do it lol....results are, yep pay somebody!!!

haha you have a ph speaker. thats sweet!! and yea get that cone closer to the fender and put a heat sheild around it to keep engine heat out. freebeer had a nice home made set up.

and the colors. ha atleast you tried. looks pretty creative. not all that bad.

yeah i didnt prime the metal, didnt even sand old pain off...but yeah mean those will be my colors when i get the outside re-pained, blue and green. dont ask, i thought about black and red but nah too typical. yellow and blck would be nice but not me. green and blue sounds like a ringer, guess its why a psycholigist would say my personality:??

yeah I actually have 2 PH speakers installed, one in my lower grille ( 50w ) and that big 100w sitting up where the factory air-box goes. lmao turns alot of heads but on same note i've gotten 3 noise violations in past 6months with em...had to place a kill switch in the wiring so i can turn it off in the older peoples neighborhood....lmao
