ok, i've always despised ford, especially mustangs, but man these things have got to be incredibly pathetic. either that or this driver was pathetic. probably both:th_thumb-down::th_coocoo::th_shakinghead2:.

on the way home from work the GT blows by on the right side,(total ricer move) and hard braked to stay right in front of me (he had to be goin 90+, i was doin 75) i was ignoring him at first but he kept sittin right beside me and looking, and the second time he took off a bit, then slowed back down and stared at me some more(playin with his pedal, had my windows open and could hear his exhaust), i decided to play along, figuring he was faster then me anyway, but what the hell.(i have a completely stock 01 gtp, mods are down the road). so i punched it and took off, and instantly i pulled on him all the way till i had to slow down for my exit, and he was a good 200-300ft behind me by that time, we had probably on gone about 1.5 miles. the bridge is about 3 miles, i was halfway across, and my exit is right at the end. so either this car is mad weak, or the driver sucks. it was a 05 or newer GT, it looked pretty clean, so i wanna say a 08 or so, whatever it is, you would think the 4.6 300hp v8 would beat me.

yeah im sure, even a clueless idiot could tell one of the most obvious things about a mustang. and if he wasn't racing he wouldn't have been doin all that s***, unless he was an idiot, which would answer my question of whether or not its the car, or the driver. a ****ty driver is a ****ty driver. dont matter what car he's in.
 
i really think he just didnt know how to drive..., but after i get my mods done (in december) ill be able to beat em hands down. gotta know how to get the most outta the car!!!
 


i wasnt there but sounds like it to me the stang slept then tried to play catch up. but i dont think qtr mile times have anything to do with a highway blast, just because you got a qtr horse doesnt mean you can beat the qtr slug on the highway in the qtr horse. but i know the stang was suppose to win but hey i wasnt there to witness lol
 
Even still. You ever punched a V8 car at 90 vs. a stock GTP at 90? The GTP feels like a 1300hp Supra with a turbo that never spools...sloooooooooooooooooooooow...the Mustang will pull all day...kinda like a LS1 car...doesn't matter what gear your in the thing has torque.
 


I hate fords...but those newer mustang gts...just some basic mods and they are pretty quick!!! I know a guy who has a TB,X-pipe,intake and a tune and I think some smaller stuff and he was running low 12's if not high 11's in 1/4mile. But if you won you won!!!! I beat my 10sec camaro....:D I cant help it Phil didn't know we was racing and third gear was out...:th_dancingsmilie::th_dancingsmilie:

well, i wasn't sitting at a light, and i did beat him, don't know why u have to call me a liar, but thats exactly what your doin.

I KNOW what they ARE SUPPOSED TO RUN, but like i said, the driver was and idiot. look what he was doin anyway. drivin like a ricer.

and i know how any V8 exhaust note sounds. ive had a 92 z28 and a 2002 ss, ive been a car freak since i was a little kid, specially muscle cars, and ive been surrounded by em my whole life. so yeah, i think i know what it sounds like. and i could clearly hear he was layin on it way to long before shifting and hittin the rev.

conclusion, lousy driver.
 
them newer mustangs are very quick i dont mess with nothing but 89-02 right around there but if you did good kill dude rock on
 
The 4.6L V8 can crush, its a matter of the driver either not knowing how to drive his car or didnt try, yes you won, no one is saying no, however catch one at a light you will be picking rubber out of your teeth, i was beating GTP in my 95 tbird with a 2V OCH 4.6L with some mods and a 4 speed trans, the new tech on the 3V and the 5 speed trans make them dangerous bone stock. again as i have stated many times already in the kill posts, you can have a viper and lose if you dont know how to drive it, bottom line any car is dangerous given the right driver, i can say that shifting was an issue when i raced an 04 cobra in my bird, i won, i will say i won but i heard him shifting and he didnt shift right, same thing with an 01 camaro worked beat him to but he missed up on shifting. Bottom line the guy doenst know how to drive or figured to race last min and didnt really try.
 


i actually just got rid of a mustang for the gtp... and let me tell you what the delay on the mashing of the gas pedal is alot less in the gtp, but for sure the mustang should have had you hands down stock vs stock, either way the driver was terrible and probably just didnt downshift to play catch up!
