05 GTP with u1000 code

Hey everyone. I am new to this forum and am in need of some experienced help.. I recently got my 05 gtp with 160km on it. After tuning up some things (replacing spark plugs because of a surge at wot, and replacing the thermostat because of engine not warming up) i checked the codes with a really good snap on scanner. I noticed there were some old stored codes as well as one current code. After clearing codes the instrument cluster has the U1000 class 2 communicaton code. There is two things that are wrong with the car. ONE, that the cruise cuts out intermittently and TWO, after a short trip to start the engine again it stumbles for a bit and either dies or will proceed up to an idle. There are no other codes or any other problems.

With the scanner i have watched the wheel speeds, brake switch, cruise switches and the throttle position when the cruise cuts out to see if there was a reason but nothing changed. All of the tail lights are working as well.

I am hoping someone can help me out or give me a couple pointers on what to look for.
Thanks!

Pull the throttle body off and see how black it looks. That is a very common for carbon build to cause the start up idle issue.

The cruise control could be a failing brake switch, it may still trigger the brake lights yet still cause a problem with it disabling the cruise control itself. Not sure how much those cost in canada but in the US they are pretty darn cheap to shotgun a part in for testing.

Well i have cleaned the throttle body out. Turns out it was very dirty and it fixed the starting issue. Thanks for the pointer! As far as the cruise i am unsure about brake switch as i can set the cruise at 60km/h on gravel and it does not kick out. Only at the 100km/h and up is where the problem is.

My cruise cuts out sometimes but I have a code that the pcm seen a class 2 brake signal from the bcm but it didn't receive a hard wired brake signal from the tac... So the brake wire on the tac could be shorting to ground.. tac controls the cruise control in the 04 plus gp's, so make sure that brake wire between the bcm and tac isn't broken or shorting out.. watch the scan data of the tac when your cruise cuts out and just watching the scan data of the bcm there are 3 seperate brake signals it sends out, so monitor the bcm too.. it has 2 wires with brake signals going out of it and a signal on the class 2 wire
