05 after market struts

so this might just win the stupidest question of the day but..... i was looking at the agx struts and was wondering why 2003 control arms are needed, because the control arm connects to the steering knuckle via the ball joint so it really does not touch the strut period so does the 2004+ control arm change the angling of the knuckle and in turn the the placement and angle of the strut to the point where it simply want fit? fyi ive only had a chance to look at the 2004+ suspension so please go easy on me simply for lack of knowledge and please enlighten me as to y 2003 control arms are required for any decent after market strut. and another quick question does the 2003 control arm bolt right on with the exception to the sway bar

The sway bar is the important part of the equation. On '04 and '05 cars, the swaybar attaches directly to the strut, not to the control arm. On every other year, the swaybar connects to the control arm. There are no aftermarket performance struts with the mounting provision for the '04 and '05 cars.

edit to add: If i remember correctly, you'll need the control arms, swaybar links, and swaybar (I think) to put the older setup onto your car.

all right sounds plenty logical to me, and after looking at the 2003 ones i noticed a a ring on the control arm is this for the sway bar? and thanks
