04+ Spyder/Ebay Projector Headlights - Why you shouldn't buy them

MrPoopyButthole

#Billsnamechangessuck
THERE IS ONLY ONE VERSION OF THESE LIGHTS AND THEY ARE MADE BY ONE MANUFACTURE. THEY DO HOWEVER HAVE SEVERAL DIFFERENT RETAILERS WHO SELL THEM! DO NOT BE FOOLED! A REAL PROJECTOR COSTS ABOUT $150, HOW CAN THEY BE ANY GOOD IF THEY COST $220-$250 FOR A WHOLE SETUP?

These are the headlights in question:

These headlights have extremely poor output, the LEDs burn out, the halos are dim and are of poor quality. DO NOT BUY.

This is a picture of output after some major adjustments and work WITH HID BULBS! And this is the best output this person could come up with:

Here is what a real output from a projector looks like:

Please stop the thread postings of whether these headlights are worth buying...THEY ARE NOT WORTH IT.

ANY QUESTIONS?????

which ones are those? and where would they get them?

^the good ones^

I just know it will come up :th_thumbsup-wink:

so wait, the ebay ones are bad????????????????????????????? Who cares about how much I can see, it's more important how cool I look to everyone else

yea the led's go out after bout a month its ugly now u gotta get another pair so im sticking with my hid's and led lights im good.......i actually bought the pair for myself and my guy begged me to sell them to him before i put them on for lil extra so glad i didnt go with them now

My projectors are bright but damn theyre not that bright....but theyre certainly not like the first pic you posted...theyre brighter than the factory projectors on my moms mazda so they cant be that bad.

Do you know if thers any way to brighten up 9005 hi beams when you have projector low's and "regular" hi's.

How far away is that shipping container thing or whatever it is? I'm wondering if my projectors need to go up more.

Holy crap mine need to go way up then...i think mine shine like maybe 50 feet down the road MAX 70 EDIT: I'm just afraid im gonna blind people...

Bear just start making them and charge 250 a set.
I've already got 4 sets of peoples lights to do at $225 and that includes shipping back to you in the states. I use Morimoto H1's the smallest and easiest projector to retrofit in our housings period!

Did you ever do a write up on how to retrofit?

sort of:

Okay, time for the truth. My First retro was okay, output was awesome and everything has held up nicely. BUT I had no way to adjust them and the cutoff lines never lined up and they weren't straight across, they had like a V shape. This time around, I made sure the cutoff line was straight (you have to do this on the car, I found out the headlights don't sit flat in the car so its different, hence the issue with lining up), I also went with a different Bi-Xenon projector, the D2S Morimoto Mini's. Let me start off by saying wow, these things are tiny, and they are a WAY better fit than the FX-R projectors I had. So In the pictures below, I basically explain each step.

Projectors, melt in your mouth not your hand.

I just used my dremel and cut a perfect circle with the use of the second out lying ring on the reflector as a guide, perfect size!
I also bought longer screws for the projectors top screws (M4 x 0.7, 30mm) so I could bolt the projectors to the reflector.

Such better clearance on the back too, but you would still have to trim the black plastic behind the light for sure.

OVEN FRESH HEADLIGHT
Headlight was fogging up fast from coming out of the oven

Should finish this all up by Tomorrow or Friday and I should have a new set of headlights

OLD HEADLIGHTS ARE SPOKEN FOR THEY ARE NOT FOR SALE!!!!!!!

Also other recent upgrades:
Remote Start
Custom downpipe to get rid of that U-bend from the speed daddy ****ty design, so I can go lower now

More Pics when everything is buttoned up and finished

I'm really, really, really studying all these threads....

but can someone please tell me how to make the "demon eyes"?

Is it a LED inserted into the projector housing? (noob!!!)

There are no set names per say.

Red halos can be referred to as Demon Eyes. To me they are just Red Angel Eyes.

Demon eyes is the LED in the projector...you just need to set up the LEDs before the cutoff shield and thats about it.
