'04 monte ss exhaust tips

first of all, am i mistaken when i say that the exhaust pipe outlet on my '04 ss is 2.5 inches? i am almost 100% certain it is, i measured...and it seemed to me that the inside of the pipe was 2.25 inches while the outside measured 2.5

so with a 2.5 inch pipe...i am looking at some weld on exhaust tips, because they are a fairly easy mod and i want my pipes to be a little more noticeable...

i am pretty sure they would work, with my exhaust cut out, which is probably able to fit up to a 3.5 inch tip comfortably...i dont know if it would fit/look good horizontally...i could go measure, it is 3.5 X 4.5

i might go out to measure again because my mom started another fire in the fireplace and it is close to 90 degrees in this house...and like 30 outside, so hot lol...thanks for any feedback :)

EDIT: i got the measurement...it seems like i could fit a 4.5" X 4.5" square exhaust tip in just fine, although im not going to get a square one lol...

with a ruler lol...i kinda guestimated...rounded down because i want the tips to fit, not bash against my bumper...i think im probably going to get a tip that fits about an inch away from the bumper...for bumper safety reasons lol
 
Mine are touching my bumper in a spot but does nothing.. Its like mm's away.. you should be able to measure with a ruler, not like this needs to be measured any other way. Id measure the outlet and get something thats about a half inch smaller and go with that.
