04 hud issue

So my hud won't. Display I have to lower my head by steering wheel to see it. Now looking thru some threads the spring holder breaks but I can't even see it its not halfway off the windshield . And on a side note are you supposed to be able to hear it adjusting when moving up and down on the switch because I also don't hear it .
