04 gt l32 swap. which computer do I have

So I recently purchased a 04 grand prix gt with a blown l32 in it. I purchased a new(used) l32 and replaced the old engine. It runs good but if u try to hit boost it cuts out. Pretty sure I have the l32 map sensor so not sure if it may be that I have a gt computer still. Don't want to "beat" on it till I know I have a good computer for the l32.
 


your gonna need the pcm tuned.

take the sc belt off till you get that.

so im reading you right. it was n/a now its supercharged right?
 
Yes it's a gt body. Gtp engine swap and built tranny. I'm currently not driving it so should be good. I have a receipt for the built tranny from triple edge performance and it says tune highly suggested before driving aggressive. I'm guessing he never had it tuned lol.
 
id get a tuned pcm then. seems like you bought someone's failed up grade.

you need to make sure the trans gears are set right in the pcm. the trans tuning is done via the pcm. n/a tranny and super charged HD trannys have different gears.
 
Yea the transmission shifts perfect so far on the back roads I have taken it down. Havnt got in the highway or anything. So should I order one from zzp or some site like that or is it the same to tune the one I have? Not sure if a tuner can access those easier however u want to put it. Also the fans stay on for 30 to 60 seconds after I shut it off is that a stock thing too or just with reprogrammed pcm`s.
 
maybe it is tuned then. (how well who knows) fans only stay on key off if its been tuned.

maybe you got a simple vac leak or something then.
 


Yea that's what I was confused about. I had a 99 gt I swapped and got a tuned pcm and everything was good so I somewhat know about this stuff. Just got the last guys project and finished it so not sure about some stuff. The dic also isn't showing miles like the computer or wiring is messing up. U go to press a button and abs, traction control, and other stuff pops up.
 
your miles are stored in the dic. not the pcm. double check the grounds. but then again, this is a car you got not running, so it hard to see or tell what was f ed up before you got it, or if you caused something with the engine swap.

if you were to change the dic, you have the donor cars miles showing.
