I need to change out my tranny on my 04 gt1 I was thinking of a used one or rebuild my originalone , just not sure what trannys will work ?? would a tranny from an 04 impala w/3400 motor work?? I don't think so but not sure , any help from a tranny guy please!!!
 


You should be fine as long as you swap the differential's over. The 3400 Impala had a 2.86 Diff. Your GT has a 3.05
 
yup Yup.. All NA 4T65's in that year should work with a diff swap. And that is pretty straightforward when it's out of the car.
 
So as long as it's an 04 & up , the tranny from a 3400 motor will work if I change the differ with my old one??? What about the check engine light?? Will it sence the difference???
