03 shuttering and shaking

i have a 2003 Grand Prix GT 3.8 with 120k on it

I have an issue when driving at slower speeds 20-40 the car will start to shutter almost like it is cutting out..but no change in the RPM (it will slowley gain speed up until it finally reaches the speed where it will stop) ...I can let off the gas and try to ease back in and sometimes it stops. At speeds over 40+ it is fine, no problems at all. I thought at first it was the tranny, but it shifts fine.

Any ideas?
 


Do you have a CEL on? When was the last time the plugs/wires were changed?

How about the trans. fluid? Wipe it on a WHITE towel and see what color it is.

Yes there is a CEL on been this has been happening months before the light came on... Plugs and wires I have never changed myself...Bought the car in 2006
 
Sounds like time for a tune up as I'd bet those wires/plugs are well done by now. Might want to pull a front plug and check it's condition and gap.

Get it scanned to find out what the CEL codes are and post back with them. Autozone and the like will do this for free.
