03 GT: No Radio/DIC lights, no rear speakers - same fuse?

I picked up an 03 GT last week. The car isn't perfect, but it's in over all good shape. It has the analog DIC (which I'd like to swap for a digital if I could) that doesn't have any lights on it. The door indicators will flash when one is open, but otherwise it's dark all the time. The radio display (as small as it is) is dark, so no time/radio station/track info is displayed. I noticed today that the rear 6x9's also don't work. Is it possible these issues are all related, maybe a common fuse is toast?

Also, on the DIC, I don't have a TRAC/TCS button, does that mean my car doesn't have traction control/ABS? Is there anywhere I can get a build sheet for the car using my VIN?
 


Yes the radio fuse is likely blown.

You still should have abs and traction control but can't turn it off
 
Thanks for the reply. Fuse is good, swapped it with the sunroof fuse, still no illumination on the headunit, so I think the bulb IN the HU is toast. The rear speakers started to work with the swapped fuse, then "popped" and stopped working. I'm just going to go the aftermarket HU/speaker route, it'll just have to wait until after Christmas. Thanks again for the reply!
 
Sounds like you have a short, either in the HU or somewhere else. I'd look for the short before doing too much more.

If it was a short, wouldn't the fuse and/or speakers be toast themselves? Either way, when i go aftermarket for the HU and speakers, it'll be done properly to bypass the factory wiring so even if there is a short, I won't have it with the new stuff.
 
You're describing a "pop" then nothing working. That sounds like a typical short, the fuse might not appear totally blown but could still be bad.

Except the fuse for the sunroof still works, and so does the fuse that was originally in the radio position. When swapping fuses, no lights came on for the HU or the DIC, the speakers worked for MAYBE 10 seconds before there was a low pop and they stopped. Swapped the fuses back to their original places and everything is as it was, sunroof works, radio works but there's no display and only the front speakers work.

At this point, trying to track down where the problem is is very low on my priority list, especially when I know I'm going to do aftermarket speakers/HU/wiring to avoid the factory stuff. I looked at this like, if it was a simple problem I'd fix it, but everything was getting swapped out with aftermarket parts anyway.
