03 engine in 97 body? PLEASE HELP

i have i 1997 grand prix GTP, however i blew the motor. i have found another engine with low miles but it is for an 03 GTP. even though the motors are both 3.8 supercharged i've heard theres a small difference in the 97-99 and 00-03. Can someone please tell me the differences, and if it is possible to install the 03 motor without hindering performance or driveability. What problems might i run into? i need as much info as i can get before i make the pruchase.
 


the map sensor and a couple others are different you have to reuse that one off your old motor also different transmissions and pcms
