02 Grand Am wont start in mornings

Madness

I know I am off topic here, but looking for the good advise I know I will get here.

Good friend has a 02 Grand Am w/125,000 miles or so and the 2.2 motor. Lately in the mornings the car will turn over but not start. Her mechanic said it was not the fuel pump, I think I agree because there is a fuel odor as the car turns over but doesn't start. The only code it has is P1441 Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Flow During Non-Purge.

The mechanic has also said it could possibly be the fuel injectors, I don't agree.

Once the car starts, it runs great and the problem does not return for a few days or so.

Any ideas? Thanks in Advance.

i would think it would be more like a ckp or ect sensor..or even a bad maf...start plugging sensors one at a time and see what happens, if it gets better then your on the right track
