01 Transmission no reverse

I have an 01 Bonneville with no reverse but every other gear shifts fine. I was intending on doing a full swap but saw somethings about the reverse servo, where exactly is this and can it be serviced while in the car? Any help/pictures would be much appreciated.

Looking down at the trans, you will see where the shifter cable is bolted to the trans and where it attaches to the shifter linkage/arm of the trans. More toward the bracket (bolt up of it) is a round cover about 2.5-3 inches in diameter. That's your reverse servo.

It's held in by pressure and a round ring. You have to push down on the cover and then work the ring out of it's groove. Then the cover pops up and the servo is accessible. This is not a lot of fun when it's out the the car, it's less fun in the car. Although I hear it is possible.

The guides/information I was seeing said something about it being accessible from the engine bay I believe? Or is the part of the exhaust crossover that has to be removed where you are talking about?

Open the hood and look down.

See the round hole to the left of the electrical black box on top? That's the servo cover hole.

Alright thank you; also what are the chances of it being just the seal, there's no reverse at all. I'm not really looking to rebuild the whole thing since I have another transmission. I assume the next cheapest possible fixes would be the actually pin if it looks bad or would it most likely end up being the plate?
