01 GTP vs 98 Mustang GT 4.7L

HA! So this as I am driving home from work this red mustang is on my ass. I see him back off and then gun it and gets on my ass. Im thinking "If I only still had my WS6".

Anyway we get to a stop light. This mustang had a loud ass exhaust(Big deal). So the light turns green and I began to launch normal. Nothing fancy just normal driving. He does the same.

Now I love to make sure that the car next to me does not pass me up. Just a little pet peeve I guess you could say. So he begins to pass me up. All of the sudden I hear his **** downshift so I emedietly retaliate. My pedal meets the floor :)

My 01 GTP picks up and suddenly I look and hes not passing me up! I can hear his car red lining and still im in front! "Ha" I say! This car trully is a mustang killer!

Go supercharger go! Before I know it im doing 75+.

I kept in front of his loud ass mustang the whole time. He was really pushing it too.

And the verdict:

o fo show you know i have been pondering when i eventually get my gtp where i need it to be i will get a vanity plate that says stngkllr
 
which model year mustang, and what mods do you have, because stock for stock you wont beat any stang gt 99 and up, but good kill though
 


the auto mustang gt is such ass, someone i may know had a 03' mustang gt stick, and stock vs. a 02' mustang auto. and the mustang stick had 3 car lengths on the auto by 110mph
 
ya i knew a kid with a 07 mustang even though i kinda hate fords that thing was effin fast stock it was a stick and he spun his tires all the way through third

well lets open up a brief gm vs. ford conversation real quick, like i said before i love both, but i have a big problem when you start dissin the mustang, if it wasnt for the mustang the camaro might not have ever existed, and because of the mustang the camaro doesnt exist. do you see where im going, gm revolves around ford when it comes to the pony/muscle cars, the mustang is a icon so when talking about mustang vs. gto/camaro/t/a or any other car in its class for that fact, how the he!! can you say gm for the win, when it losses in that category every time they try. now if you want to talk about speed, for doesnt try to beat gm in speed, read the reviews, the mustang handles better, has more room, its more comfortable, has a better interior, nice rumble, and its a better daily driver, on the other hand the t/a looks better, and they are faster, but they're discontinued, the same goes with the camaro and gto, that shows you what america as a whole thinks, and that is speed is not everything, and for a 281 to be able to keep up so good against a 350 is impressive, now when ford wants to, they put big motors in cars and when they do gm cant touch them, think about it, put a 5.0 mustang against a 5.0 camaro, the stang would win, put a 351 stang (95 cobra r) against a 350 camaro the stang still wins, in fact put a 331 stang (2000 cobra r) against a 350 camaro the stang will still kill it. that just shows you that if ford wants to throw a big engine in a stang and make it fast they can, but they dont have to, because they're #1 in that class. so if you wants to dis a car pick another one, and stop with the american rivalry, aim at the imports because they're taking over, and we need to stop it

rivalry is the fun of it i agree imports and Public Enemy #1 but i like killing stangs being born in raised in the Detroit area either you love gm or ford and hate the other usually depends on where most of you family worked .... for me at least but i think the things about mustangs is just like any other car which can apply to gm is that a lot of people think they are the fastest car ever and they will be in the v6 and trying to race a Z28 instead of of RS which would be a closer race but i mean thats the thing about racing that everyone likes its face value of what you got. if both drivers are capable of driving than there is no gray area and with no questions about who won
so when it comes down to it the rivalry just makes things fun
 
you have a great point cavalier. personally i dont car anything about the looks or a camaro. all i really care about is the LS1, gm did a great job with that motor. it is a very capable and stoute motor with great potential. but since im on that the 03-04 cobra motors are just as bad. i think the only reason mustangs get hated on cause they keep making these slow gt's but yes the new ones are a little faster but a 2002 camaro is still faster. but i guess it dont really matter when you got svt to back it up :)

GM made the first and ultimate "muscle car" of this debate. Have you forgotten about the Corvette? What Fords can compete with them?

I would take a stock corvette over any stock mustang any day so -----> GM FTW
