Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

01 gtp transmission probs

To change the filter you will lose about half the fluid in the system. As Scotty mentioned, after putting the new filter in and pan back on, it will take up to 8 quarts to get the level back to normal and you'll have diluted the fluid to 50/50 old/new. You could also add the Lucas as part of the refill.

This is the procedure most people would recommend in your current situation. Also, check that power steering fluid - maybe all of your whines will be gone :)

Okay so two questions. I still have yet to change the fluid because I want a shift kit. But, I let my car sit while I was out of town and I drove it again and the tranny went back to doing the stuff it used to do again.

The first to second wait happened again and it shifted horribly

So I look at the fluid and its bubbles...... What do bubbles mean??

Also the color was a lot darker.. What could cause this?

Change your fluid. It is cooked and resulting in your problems. If you don't change it, you will need a tranny rebuild much sooner than possibly some time later.

If you want to try and milk the tranny for all shes worth, frequent fluid changes will be required. Yes the shift kit will help. Who knows what will happen. She may be done already.

So what filter do you guys recommend? I need to pick it up somewhere local because I want to do it in the morning.

Orileys has a filter and gasket sent for $15. Is that a reasonable price?

I think O'rileys stocks WIX. That's an average price. Give or take. You can save a dollar or two and get it without the junk gasket. Just reuse the original. Assuming you still have the original.

Edit:

Ninja Scotty.
